As candidates line up for representing their party in the 2008 presidential election, other players in the mix are former Vice President Al Gore and global warming. Following his lost bid to be president in 2000, Gore became the standard bearer in the fight against global warming and even won an Oscar for his performance in the environmentally-based movie An Inconvenient Truth.
Many detractors claim that Gore did little during his eight years as vice president. Supporters say he has recognized the need to help the environment and is hoping to bring attention to the issue. Detractors however, claim there is an underlying motive and the connection of Al Gore and global warming is hope is to bring attention to his political ambitions. The recent film that initially appeared as an independently produced documentary, won critical acclaim for his performance explaining the issue has also been debunked as using more theory than fact.
Many scientists support the theory while other outright depict it as a warning from alarmists, who are using Al Gore and global warming to push their environmental ideas. They believe that by showing a potential for a worldly disaster, it can make inroads on many of their environmental opinions. By touting Al Gore and global warming as the only way to save the planet, they can all be heroes.
If Proven Right, No One Wins
As environmentalists are quick to point out, if they are right and the globe becomes too warm, it could cause catastrophic climate changes, ending life as it is known today. The Dangers Of Animals And Global Warming
With the world continuing to grow warmer there is great concern over the effect that global warming has on the animals. While many people are not concerned with the idea of global warming, studies have shown changes in wildlife that are starting to become alarming.
Animals and global warming are being studied by many different scientists today and they are documenting changes in the behavior of many different species. There are many types of fish that are moving farther north in search of cooler waters. Polar bears today do not weigh as much as they did years go and their health appears to be failing.
When taking a look at animals and global warming you will find that there are a number of changes in animal behavior and patterns which have taken place in the last twenty years. Elephant seal pups are not as big as they used to be and they are slowly moving in search of cooler waters. Marmots are not spending as much time in hibernation and certain fruitflys which are accustomed to hot weather are looking for a cooler climate.
While there is little doubt that anybody would miss the fruitfly, the reason for their change in climate should cause great concern.

It seems as though one cannot turn on the TV without seeing something about global warming and the dire straits the planet will soon be faced with. Most of the world believes that global warming is going to bring on death and destruction, leaving the planet as a hostile environment that most people will not be able to survive. Whether this is true or not can be left for people decide at another time.
There are some things that can be done to help the planet no matter how one feels about global warming. This helps the planet and the wallet. Once paid for, solar power is free and that leaves more money in the budget for other things.
Something else that can be done as a global warming solution is to drive ones vehicle less. Automobile’s pollute the air and are a major source of greenhouse gasses. People should try taking public transportation or car pooling with other people. Trading in the older gas guzzling model and looking for something that gets better fuel mileage is a good idea, too. There are hybrids that retain much of their power but still get great mileage.

Determining When Did Global Warming Start
The term global warming refers to an increase in temperature of the surface air that surrounds the earth. When did global warming start? Some say records date back as far as 1850. The United States tend to turn a deaf ear to all of the warnings and the warning signs. The people of the United States often view global warming as a political debate between the two parties. Republicans tend to look the other way while Democrats believe something should be done to prevent further damage.

By doing nothing we are allowing some species of animals and plant life to become extinct. We are also allowing more and more harmful rays of the sun to reach the earth. This could explain the rise in skin cancer in the past few years. If we continue to allow the depletion of the earth’s ozone layer, the day may very well come when human life will also be in danger of extinction.
